Tribute and Obituary

This Jackie Lewis tribute and photo montage were put together by Life Leadership.  The obituary follows.

This week, the earth lost an incredible heroine.  The youngest of the eight founding couples of Life Leadership, Jackie Lewis was the poster child of personal growth in Christ.   She was filled with hopes and dreams of making a difference in this world.

And she did!

A woman who cherished her husband and four precious young children, she was a leader of thousands of wives and mothers. Her fingerprints have been left on anyone within earshot of her voice, and the effects of her life will be felt for eternity.  She led not only through her messages from stage, but more importantly from the example that she set.

Jackie would be the first to tell you that she was not perfect, but she had full faith in a Savior who IS, and because she trusted Him, she now resides with Him forever.

Jackie’s testimony shared recently at a Life Leadership Convention Sunday morning told of her background of which she was not proud and her transformation into being a happily married mother of four, striving for excellence in every area, and leading others to leave their own pasts behind.

She brought smiles during talks from stage about the “grape lady”, “suck it up cupcake!” and the escalator fall. She egged us on with her passion after reading “The New Tolerance,” or telling us that the world is begging us to, “Lead …with strong arms!”.  She reminded us that, “Your life is not over, but your past is.” AND “What we do in LIFE echos into eternity.” She told us not to lose hope, because when the sun goes down the stars come out.

Jackie’s chief goal was to bring glory to God, and her recent text to Laurie Woodward probably summed it up best, “I can’t stand not getting better at anything!”

Jackie recently quoted Mae West, “You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough.”

Jackie Lewis only lived once, and thanks be to God, because of her, thousands – if not millions – will know how to live right.

  3. Jackie, when your spirit went to your Heavenly Father, this world lost a very beautiful person, inside and out! However, we also gained an angel to watch over us. Your testimony will live in the hearts of many and as it is played throughout the days ahead, you will continue to inspire many more people to put their lives in God’s hands. You will continue to inspire people to walk with The Lord in all that they do. To love everyone and teach our babies to grow strong in their faith. I will often think of you and your messages and smile and say – Thank you, Lord, for giving our family Jackie and allowing her the courage to share her testimony thus bringing many people to follow You all the days of their lives. Thank you, my brother, Charlie, and your lovely wife, Char, for raising such a wonderful child of God. We love you all. RIP Jackie. You will be missed.

  4. I feel honored to be included as one of Jackie’s thousands of grown-up girlfriends. We met perhaps once or twice, and while she never would’ve remembered me, I will never forget her. Her words resonated with me no matter what she spoke about. While I can say she encouraged me in every area of life, perhaps the biggest impact she had on me was seeing how fiercely she fought to be the absolutely BEST wife to Bill that she could be. To have such a young woman in the 21st century get it SO right when it comes to God’s plan for the most important earthly relationship a wife will have is rare. I am so fortunate that she was in my life, even if primarily from a distance. Her strength and grace will never be forgotten. Her willingness to boldly fulfill God’s purpose for her life will be appreciated forever. Her legacy will continue through me and the thousands of other women she reached while on this earth. She may not have seen the vision of reaching one million people come to fruition in her short lifetime, but it is BECAUSE OF her that others will. The ripple effect that her passion and love created will reach far beyond one million people. May God richly bless the work that she began, and may He comfort all who must now find a way to continue their own work without her by their side.

  6. Though I only met you a couple times at local and regional events – your grace and teaching gifts will bless others for years to come. You chased down your purpose and fulfilled it! Your legacy will forever live on, through the leaders you raised, the families, mothers, fathers and children you blessed by sharing the Truth, wisdom and the light that was once shared with you. Praise be to God in Heaven. We know you’re now dancing with the Lord and we look forward to meeting you again in His presence. May your family be blessed in this difficult time and may the Lord shine his mercy and grace upon them always.

    Dear Bill and Family,

I appreciated that your beautiful Jackie was an amazing example of what being a Godly and transparent woman looks like.
Her prayer for believers was “not to put up, shut up, or let up until we are taken up!” That really hit home to my guarded heart and challenged me forever to live, with abandon, the call of Christ. She made it popular and lovely to be someone who loved being a mother and a wife in a world where it was unpopular and unappreciated. There was something in her that everyone could relate to. Thank you for allowing us to share a part of her life with us, now she shares a part of our hearts forever.

    Somewhere Over The Rainbow

    somewhere over the rainbow
    God has planned
    a most glorious mansion
    over in glory land

    somewhere over the rainbow
    i’ll meet you
    we will sing together
    a song that’s forever new

some day when God shall call me home
i’ll wake up where the clouds are far behind me
where tears and troubles are no more
    far from sin i’ll soar
    that’s where you’ll find me

    somewhere over the rainbow
    i’ll meet you
    we will sing together
    a song that’s forever new

  10. Jackie,
The seeds you have planted with your wisdom and love will indeed influence and change the hearts of millions. We thank you and and ask for God’s eternal blessings on you and your family.

Thank you so much for making this blog and the Celebration Webcast available. It was a beautiful celebration of Jackie’s life. She has been such an amazing inspiration in my life and countless others. While there is a bit of Jackie in Bill, her children and family, because of her voice and all that she stood for, there is a bit of Jackie’s fruit in every man, woman and child who have ever been (or ever will be) blessed to hear her speak or been in the realm of her influence. I believe she has been richly rewarded in Heaven for her “cause for Christ”. Seeing this “montage”of her life has challenged me more than ever, to be even more honorable for God in all that I do. For this I am grateful! I am also thankful to all of you whom have had a part in sowing seeds of Truth into Jackie’s life to help her become who she has. You know who you are and YOUR seeds will continue to echo thru eternity as well.
Bill, yours and Jackie’s family will continue to be in our family’s prayers. May God’s peace and love continue to overflow into your lives.
    God Bless!
